About the Role
The Department Of Information and Communication Technology is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Information Communication based in Mmabatho, North West. What You’ll Do
- Provide support for local and wide area networks, ensuring optimal connectivity.
- Monitor and report on the functionality of transversal and business application systems.
- Manage and resolve issues related to network infrastructure including switches, routers, and access points.
- Process new user requests and terminations for network access in coordination with HR.
- Compile monthly IT reports and oversee the maintenance of ICT servers and applications.
- Facilitate the installation and updating of ICT applications, including antivirus software.
- Address user workstation issues and manage ICT calls according to service level agreements.
- Supervise daily operations and allocate work among staff members.
- Participate in central ICT projects to implement new initiatives across the province.
- Conduct assessments of ICT business needs and provide recommendations for improvements.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma (NQF level 6) or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ICT environment at a junior management level, particularly with LAN and WAN systems.
- Knowledge of government systems structure and the South African ICT landscape.
- Familiarity with ICT acts, policies, and project management principles.
- Strong planning, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Advanced computer literacy and problem-solving abilities.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
