What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate, manage, and administer the processing of payments within the department.
  • Safeguard payment vouchers and ensure adherence to internal control processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with suppliers of goods and services to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Manage staff performance to ensure a productive work environment.
  • Establish and maintain expenditure risk factors to protect departmental finances.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate National Diploma in Commerce (NQF level 6).
  • A Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Expenditure or Financial Management as a State Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of government expenditure procedures, BAS, LOGIS, PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in Expenditure Administration and Management is a plus.
