What You’ll Do

  • Manage and oversee the Community Development Workers Programme within the district
  • Engage with community members to identify needs and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with local government and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness
  • Provide leadership and guidance to community development workers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and government policies
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to program activities and outcomes

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification in Community Development or Social Science (SAQA recognized)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community development or an administrative environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of community dynamics, government operations, and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and report writing

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be in possession of a National Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification in Community Development/ Social Science as recognised by SAQA coupled with 3 years’ experience in a community development/ administrative environment and a valid driver’s licence.

Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have Knowledge of the: Dynamics, culture and language of targeted communities; how government operates; Human Resources and Financial Management; Project management; relevant legislation; Local Government legislation ; Government policies, prescripts and legislation; Planning; Team work; Decision making skills; Problem solving skills; Networking skills; Leadership skills; Report writing skills; Employee development; Analytical skills; Presentation skills; People management; Good communication skills (verbal & written) with other Government organizations and Private sector and good computer literacy in MS Office.
