The Department of Finance is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Assistant Director: Credit Management in Pietermaritzburg. What You’ll Do
- Manage the receipt and accurate recording of valid invoices from suppliers.
- Ensure timely payment of suppliers within the stipulated 30-day period.
- Conduct financial reconciliations and prepare reporting documentation.
- Supervise and manage the resources of the credit management unit.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, management, and suppliers.
- Stay informed of procurement and payment systems, policies, and regulations.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Management recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a financial management environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, payment systems, PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
- Proficiency in BAS and familiarity with the Public Service Act and Labour Relations Act.
- Excellent planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong numeracy skills and financial management capabilities.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
