What You’ll Do

  • Perform maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment at the Orange Fish Tunnel and Gariep Dam Government Scheme.
  • Conduct routine inspections and compile maintenance reports for all mechanical equipment.
  • Execute preventive and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Manage contractors on-site to guarantee compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Render technical services maintenance and perform administrative duties related to the role.
  • Inspect equipment for technical faults and ensure they are serviced according to the scheduled maintenance plan.
  • Maintain job records and compile reports to track progress and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Standards.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate Mechanical Trade Test Certificate.
  • A valid unexpired driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and technical analysis.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance, technical report writing, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, PMDS, and PFMA.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with planning and organizing abilities.
  • Capability to work long hours and perform well under pressure.
