About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is excited to announce six vacancies for the position of Artisan Foreman: Grade A, located across various depots including Fort Beaufort, Maluti, Straundale, Steynburg, and Mount Fletcher in the Eastern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Supervise and produce designs according to client specifications and production capabilities.
- Conduct quality assurance on produced objects and ensure compliance with recognized standards.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and facilities, performing repairs as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain documentation, including registers of maintained and repaired equipment, and compile reports for management.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations throughout projects.
- Mentor and supervise staff, managing resources and scheduling work effectively.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with new technologies and procedures.
What You’ll Need
- Trade Test Certificate in any Built Environment with five years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- Valid driver’s license.
- General knowledge of Public Service Regulations and the Public Service Act.
- Proficiency in project coordination, technical design, and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and lead teams effectively, with a focus on customer responsiveness.
