What You’ll Do

  • Manage patient administration in a 24-hour shift system
  • Oversee and maintain internal controls for revenue collection
  • Process debtors’ accounts and manage banking of collected revenue
  • Ensure the proper classification and re-classification of patients
  • Compile management reports and manage the archiving of patient records
  • Evaluate staff performance according to the performance management system
  • Prepare on/off duty schedules for staff, including ward clerks
  • Control overtime, standby, and public holiday claims
  • Supervise queue marshals, porters, and mortuary services
  • Handle patient administration inquiries and assist with case management
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly statistics and reports

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12
  • Three (3) years of experience in Patient Administration or a Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Public Administration or Public Management recognized by SAQA
  • Extensive knowledge of outpatient administration, reception, and help desk functions
  • Familiarity with PEIS, Billing system, and UPFS user guide/procedure book
  • Understanding of Revenue policies and sector financial administration provisions of PFMA
  • Knowledge of relevant prescripts such as Government Gazette
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to work extra hours in a 24-hour shift environment
  • A valid driver’s license is an added advantage
