Selection Process
- Application screening by Transnet Bursary Department
- Interviews in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, and Durban
- Final selection based on interview, academic performance, and medical fitness
Contractual Obligations
Students are required to render one year of service for every year of financial aid received. Academic failure or non-compliance with bursary requirements may result in bursary repayment. Annual renewal depends on satisfactory academic performance.

Available during June/July or December/January holidays. Students must provide:

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
For University of Technology students who have completed S4. Available fields include Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgy, Data Analytics, Finance, Public Administration, ICT, and Computer Science.
Special Programmes
- CAT Programme: Three-year programme for CTA/BCompt (Hons) students with mentorship from Chartered Accountants.
- Young Professional-in-Training (YPT): 24-month programme providing work experience for technical and non-technical graduates.
- Technician-in-Training (TIT): 12–24 months for diploma graduates who completed WIL.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT): 24-month programme for Engineering graduates with formal and on-the-job training.
- Apprenticeships: Vocational training in trades such as Electrician, Fitter and Turner, Electrical Fitter, and Welder.
