📝Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7). Experience: Appropriate experience in a CSSD setting in a hospital environment. Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts (day and night duty), including weekends and public holidays. Physically fit to lift heavy objects, push heavy trolleys, bend down, and stay on feet for long hours. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal relations skills. Ability to work in a co-operative way within a team context. Basic literacy, both written and verbally.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Collect and deliver soiled and clean linen and packs to and from theatre and wards. Effective application of sterilisation processes and techniques and promote/adhere to infection control as well as health and safety regulations. Decontaminate, pack and sterilisation of instruments, linen, and supplies. Assist with cleaning and testing of sterilisation equipment, washing machines and autoclaves. Maintain equipment in an optimum working condition. Cost effective utilisation of resources, monitor, control and maintain adequate stock levels. Report and assist with investigation of lost instruments/equipment. Support to the supervisor and team members.
