Competition Commission 2026 Cadet Training Programme – Strategy, Public Policy & Governance (Pretoria)

The Competition Commission of South Africa is seeking exceptional graduates to join its 2026 Cadet Training Programme in Strategy, Public Policy, and Governance. Who Should Apply

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and committed individual who meets the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship.
  • Completed Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in:
    • Public Policy
    • Monitoring & Evaluation
    • Strategic Management / Corporate Strategy
    • Public Administration / Public Management
    • Planning
  • 6–12 months research exposure in the relevant field.
  • No more than 12 months work experience in a related legal or policy environment.
  • Strong academic record, with 70%+ average preferred.
  • Evidence of proactive engagement in initiatives or service beyond academic coursework, demonstrating commitment to public interest and societal impact.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Demonstrated analytical, investigative, and research skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and contribute to high-quality reports.
  • Notable achievements during academic studies or admission journey.
  • Computer literacy and comfort with using digital tools for research, reporting, and communication.
